The Must Have At Mozart

Gather around and let’s talk about how food meets nature at Mozart’s Coffee Roasters in Austin, Texas. Before we even start this article, I want you to know that I am coming back here in the future again. Let me explain

ABOUT MOZART’S COFFEE ROASTERS:

Mozart’s Cafe Roasters has been open for the past 27 years to establish a place to enjoy quality coffee and a breathtaking setting. Breathtaking is RIGHT. The view of Lake Austin is amazing. The outdoor deck makes it very easy to work on your laptop, meet up with friends, or just sit and enjoy nature. They are proud to be an “Austin’s Original” roast in-house that also was the first to offer free wifi! What a dream right? Mozart’s was also the first in Austin to offer a bottomless cup to the menu. Astonishing.

MY EXPERIENCE:

Imagine me flying into Austin from Houston with my carry on and work bag ready to meet with my coworkers for a meeting, freaking out just a little bit when I pulled up in the Lyft. Mozart’s Cafe is located right next to Lake Austin & I was amazed. To know me is to know that I honestly love working outside. However, I was honestly disappointed when I didn’t even look at the location of my calendar invite before arriving at the actual restaurant. My mind has been all over the place! Therefore, when arriving it was like nature threw me a surprise party!

I picked a table at the outdoor deck area that had a breathtaking view of Lake Austin. The trees made perfect shade from the sun. The birds chirping and the sound of water from the lake created a feeling of peacefulness. When I went inside to place my order, I had to stare at the menu to figure out what I even wanted. With so much on the menu ranging from decadent desserts, daily food offerings, coffee by the pound, smoothies, and COFFEE.

As much as I wanted to try a dessert, I stuck with something that caught my eye right as I looked at the menu. I got the Fresh Baked Quiche. “What is quiche” you may ask, basically a scrambled egg pie. According to Google, “Quiche is a French tart consisting of pastry crust filled with savoury custard and pieces of cheese, meat, seafood or vegetables”. Let me give you a backstory on why I got it. I thought about my dad when I first saw it. My dad would make quiche randomly on the weekends and I love it so much, and there are so many ways that you can personalize quiche when you make it. At Mozart’s Coffee Roasters, you can choose from either a spinach quiche, bacon quiche, or potato and leek quiche. I went with the spinach. I also got a Cold Brew Mocha to give me a little pick me up. Excuse me, how can I come to a roaster and not get coffee?

The Spinach Quiche came out nice and hot and I was excited to dig in. I had to wait for an extra couple of minutes for my Cold Brew Mocha which was extra worth it. The Spinach Quiche was fluffy and flavorful. The spinach added an extra crunch to each bite. My favorite part was the buttery and flaky crust. I could not stop talking about it. In quiche, the crust can make or break the dish.

Let’s remember that this is a place that specializes in coffee made IN HOUSE and the aromas around do not let you forget. When I was at the table with my coworkers, I smelled something burning. However, it was a good burning smell. Come to find out, it was the team roasting the coffee. So if you love the smell of fresh coffee and the view of the water, this place is for you. My Cold Brew Mocha had me dance on the first sip! It was made perfectly and the mocha was not overpowering.

When I was sitting at the table, I saw crew members putting up the holiday lights for their show. After Googling it, I really want to come back just for this experience. The Christmas Light Show was voted the Best Local Event for 2020 and has been going on for 11 years! Quick note: You have to reserve your tickets before coming. Check out the photos I found online below on their Christmas Light Show.

Have a dog? Mozart’s Coffee Roaster has one of the best dog friendly patios in Austin, Texas. When I went, there were a couple of dogs chilling on the patio living their best life. I know in the future I want to bring my little pup to enjoy this experience.

I am so excited to come back on my next trip to Austin! Come on in try my must have at Mozart’s!
